Does anyone remember the speedy in bits that went through HVA auction last year.

The tail had been cut in its past and had a plastic tail put on it.

Did anyone keep any pics.

There weren't that many made, it's likely to be the same car.

Someone may have pics of it with the plastic tail back on.

If it's the one at HVA in July 2016 it looks to have been registered CMF 842, Tony.

Strange they are bothe cut at simular angles, for a low production car.

I think you would have to cut it at that point if you wanted to retain the original fuel tank.
And thank you, Ruairidh, a little more indication that this particular Speedy was supercharged.

    I was lucky enough to spot a copy of Donald Cowborne’s book
for 1925-1939 on EBay for just £20 so it came today.
In it was a photo of 3 Allards also known appropriate as the “Tailwaggers”
Donald captioned this photo SSCC  8-10th April 1939 Highland 2-Day Trial.
In the roll of film I had previously had developed there is an almost identical
photo of these cars. Also in the same book, Leslie Bisset
was listed as an entrant in what looks to be that same Speedy.

I’ve not gone through the whole 720 pages but presumably
there will be some Grasshoppers in there?

It is interesting to look at period pictures of trials cars and the tyres they used on some sections, particularly when we look at the VSCC's stance on originality and the use of the same type of tyre in their events.

I have just admired the photo of Waite passing through Comber. Every Tuesday morning I enjoy morning coffee in the square in Comber with non car friends. Hard to get away from the Ards TT races. Thank you for this and the other photos.
