Bespoke stainless steel exhaust fabricator
#1
I must confess, this isn't an Austin 7 query but I want to replace a rather poor set up on my Riley Nine. Can anyone give me a pointer to someone who could produce something bespoke to my spec please?

Thanks..

Hugh

Sorry I don’t know that area. Can Riley register spares, or Blue Diamond help?
If all else fails you could contact Phoenix Exhaust at Cullompton, Devon. They have just made a Stainless steel silencer for me to my drawing and dimensions for Less than £100

Thanks Zeto The Riley folks don't do anything stainless. I have a non-standard exhaust manifold as well. that complicates things. I'll keep the Phoenix people on the list. Interstingly, I am trying to track down a firm that Blue Diamond (when they were down that way) used to make a batch. It may have indeed been them..

I had a stainless exhaust made by these people: https://henwood-industrial-estate.cylex-...51706.html I was pleased with the quality of the work and what I considered a reasonable price.

Basically you take them your vehicle, they make the system up and fit it to the the car (or in my case, truck) they're at Ashford in Kent, so not especially close to you

Hugh, If you want a diy route I have always been able to assemble from stainless parts from these guys

They have just about every pipe and silencer size you could imagine. Quality and service are good.

Hi Hugh,

Advanced Automotive Systems Ltd were first brought to my attention by an old school friend and former rally driver with a Mk1 Mini Cooper S rally car. I believe they're highly regarded within the rally fraternity.

Unfortunately they're a considerable distance north of Cambridge though only around three mile away from me - they're on the north bank of the Tyne very close to where the A1 crosses the River Tyne at Scotswood. Their Facebook page shows examples of their impressive work.

Note their company website below requires Flash Player which was discontinued by Adobe on December 31st 2020 - I subsequently removed it from my Apple Mac desktop so can't now see the website content.

Should also mention these guys in Basildon. Made a bespoke bunch of bananas for the 6cyl Singer. Quality work doesn't come cheap.
