I am happy with this Maypole charger. Does 6 and 12v. Their customer service was excellent when a previous one failed years out of warranty.

I use a Lidl intelligent charger on all four of my cars. I did have one fail but they sent another .
I am always interested in any information about Rosengart details or current owners.

I guess it goes without saying but trickle charger means the modern regulated type and not the traditonal more or less constant low amp rate charger.
Incidentally even more vital for any modern laid up as the drain seems to exceed tha natural loss from the old pre calcium batteries.

I use one of these. Seems to work well so far.

I think it's been replaced by a newer model now. You can get them on Amazon or elsewhere.

Accumate OptiMate. Since Dec 2006.  Have 3 of these family of cleaver chargers.  One 24/7 on a little grey Fergey tractor; one on ride on mower 24/7 (when not mowing); one in garage 24/7 on a spare battery or occasionally on classic car if sitting for a week or so.
Accumate was new 6V/12V sister to original 12V OptiMate.

Thank you all very much for your input regarding chargers. As Halfords was nearest to me and open(!) I took the advice of several members and bought the ones illustrated by Nick Salmon for £35 ea. Job done thanks.
