Electronic fuel pumps

As Zeto alludes to - 1930's Morris 8's (918cc side-valve with SU 1" UBA or 1.125" H1 carb) use an SU LP pump attached to the near side of the under bonnet battery / tool box on the bulkhead / firewall which is positioned both above and some distance from the rear chassis mounted fuel tank. Burlen SUCarb also manufacture a 12v version of their 6v pump shown below. Expensive yes, but good quality with spares availability.

I have a 6V Fuelflow piston pump on my SU, no regulator, they are very quiet running. I believe they are are manufactured in New Zealand.

The Fuelflow ECCO LM102 is the best option.
 it is a diaphragm pump design expressly for SUs on Morris minors. (1- 1/2 PSI )
I have one on my 28 Top Hat with a 1" SU and it works quietly and reliably.
Best to put a small Motorcycle disposable filter on the inlet side to protect the valves from tank grit.
They retail at $135  here in NZ.
The company owner is a Toolmaker and is very helpful and knowledgeable about his product. He sells many to the Morris minor Clubs and Parts Suppliers worldwide.

I think the Fuelflow pump is the one I fitted to my MGB almost thirty years ago. It gives the reassuring Tick Tick until the carbies fill and once the motor is started I can't hear it.

I have run a Facet pump in my single-seater for 8 years or more.The space saving compared to an SU is very useful in this cramped environment. VSCC wont accept them.The "tick" changes in timbre when tank is dry.Rubber mounting advisable.

Thanks so much for all the useful advice and info. I guess I should explain why I'm looking to fit one. I want a very early 'look' to the underbonnet area and so I've got the manifolding and carb (Zenith 24T) for an updraught system but I expect it will preclude the use of the AC mechanical pump. For the same reason I don't want to see or hear an electric pump under the bonnet. Ideally I'd have a small, quiet low pressure inline pump halfway along the chassis or at the rear tank. The cheapos look ideal but .......?
Sadly I've a bit of a thing about SUs as I've suffered from them over the years (including being trapped in a crashed Mini listening to the joyful ticking of its pump) but one of the Fuelflow pumps could be a contender. Which one fits at the tank and would its pressure be low enough?
