Torque Tube Bearings
#1
Good morning,

Does anyone know with enough certainty for me to order against, what the bearing numbers are for a 1934 RP Saloon torque tube? It's (I think) the D type axle, date stamped march 1934.
As per the picture below, although it's currently in the car.

if the numbers don't arrive you could try simply bearings and enter the sizes - I did this for mine

Many Parts lists are on the Archive web site. Although bearing numbers for specific manufacturers are not quoted, all the dimensions are. Pages 53 and 54 of this one (July 1934) should give you a basis for further research...

Yes it's a D-type axle. I'm pretty sure Jamie (Seven Workshop) or David (A7 Components) can set you on the right track.

It was Jamie who asked me to find out.

@Hugh - thanks for the link. I don't have the correct parts book for my car.

Ah, OK.

I'm afraid the only reference I have is a list of SKF equivalents; not sure if it's any help.
