1927 Chummy #2 - Brake drums

I have found that the brake drums are not attached to the hub by countersink screws. Woodrow suggests that they should be - but as you will see from the photos the three holes in the drum are blanked off and the inner and outer hub are neatly held by screws. Is this the normal set up for 1927?

Well, mines not like that but wouldn’t like to say which is correct.

This is normal for the early cars - hence two lengths of hub screws.

Most modern cars omit the screws ( if a wheel comes off, so does the brake drum. With hydraulic brakes instead of s setscrews they fit twin circuit braking.) All the hole locations have to be very accurate, so convenient to omit.

And I think the blanked-off holes in the drums are for the wheel-locating dowels, which you don't have either.
Do your wheels have plain, circular wheel-stud holes?
