A Good Tip
#1
have been struggling to clean and polish the metal frame around the windscreen glass on my '35 Pearl.  Started with wire brush wheel...too abrasive and scratched the chrome.  Tried rubbing compound on a polishing wheel...didn't even touch the grime, oxidation, scuz.  Then I went with an amazing product...Barkeeper's Friend (and no, I don't have any financial interest in the company)!  After scrubbing for a few minutes, the frame was clean!!!  I've used this in the kitchen, stainless appliances and the like.  Non abrasive, interestingly enough.  Anyway, thought I'd pass this along

If cleaning chrome which has not been polished in living memory I use a small brass bristled suede brush. Steel bristles are far too aggressive. If the chrome is still properly attached it will come up quite well, and give it a final polish with conventional chrome cleaner.
