You're probably right, Bill, but note the Leyland's wheels are a similar colour, and the Wolseley crossing in front of the Austin also has less-than-clean wheels!

I went to the same school as Dave, but in the year below. My class of 48 did the same prank as Dave's, with every one of us stamping on the warning bell. Next morning the whole class was made to line up across the front of the room with the right arm stretched out to receive a single hefty whack on the palm. I don't remember doing the same trick again.
