With hydraulic brakes I'd imagine that it stops well, as it comes with a 4 speed gearbox and shortened prop shaft, i doubt there will be room to fit the original braking system.

The 'modern' has blotted it's copybook again! It appears that an injector has gone 'off line'. Leon's Morris is in thee process of having it's heater overhauled, so will be off the road for this week and I am diffident about driving it anyway as it's his car and not mine So, the Seven has been pressed into service as my daily driver (comme d'habitude) until the bits turn up and I can get around to the awful task of doing the injector.
It always amuses me that the most reliable car in the garage is also the oldest.

The turn-out at Stavely was disappointing... previous gatherings at the Punch Bowl had a better "register call". I hope next month will be an improvement.

Had a flat spot which I was pretty certain was the carburetor. Today decided to do something about it. A quick squirt of brake cleaner
over the ends of the throttle spindle while the engine was running definately messed up the tickover so carb off to do some checks. The holes through the throttle body definately had some wear so re-drilled and bushes made and 'glued' into place. Spindle looks new so not touching it. Then as the glue will take 24 hours to fully cure I decided to put my spare carb on. It has a few 'defects' but fitted and car run up to temperature and NO Flat Spot !. Need to do a road test to fully confirm but pretty sure I have cured the problem. Will dismantle the original carb and give it yet another ultrasonic clean but having done it a couple of times before I think the carb will be going into the spares box (or should that be 'bin')after.

It has been a terrible day here in the fastnesses of North Wales, with gale force winds and horizontal rain. Nevertheless, i was obliged to go to a hospital appointment in Dolgellau this afternoon. Given that the choice of vehicle is limited to either the Landrover or the Seven at present, I went in the Seven. Perhaps not the wisest choice, but I find the Landy increasingly difficult and heavy to drive these days. Going west along the A495 I was into a headwind most of the way and it was a bit of a fight to keep the car straight. Indeed, anything more than about 35 mph and the car became most interesting to drive.
I was followed by a police car from Rhydymain and was half expecting him to stop me, the car was so badly affected by the crosswinds, but he didn't. There were lots of debris on the road and, just outside Dolgellau, there was a minor traffic jam whilst some council workers removed a tree that had fallen across the road. I was a few minutes late for my appointment, but, as the hospital department was running late, that fortunately didn't matter. The journey back was rather easier, as I now had a tailwind and the Seven's stability was less affected. Got there and back safely enough, but on the whole quite an adventure

Brave effort!

Going to the Red Lion in Litton for the lunch time meet yesterday I had a quick run on the road through Peak Forest, I found out why on my return I was battling a head wind, no problem with directional stability like David but my max speed was 35 mph.
