What have you done today with your Austin Seven
Interesting that it was originally blue Steve. More in common with Corky than you might have thought!

It is, isn't, John. This sort of information and my pleasure in getting it is something I know your Dad would have understood. That I can't show him the car is something I find so sad. He'd have loved it and would have been all over it like a rash.

My Austin hasn't turned a wheel since it ventured out on 9th December. The weather just hasn't been suitable. We first of all had a cold spell up to Christmas, with some roads salted then since New Year it has been wet, wet and wetter still. The forecast is for more until at least early February, so all I'm doing is talking to the old girl and giving her a bit of TLC.

I need some sunshine!!!

Thanks for that information, Steve. How wonderful that somebody had the foresight to arrange this. We'll now be able to look up Anne's '34 Ruby.

If it was first registered in Cheshire, Tony, be quick. Chester Records Office closes on 1st February until October whilst they move to new premises.

For others wondering what records are still available and what are not, look up the web site of 'The Kithead Trust' they list what remaining records are held where and also what records they themselves hold.

Thanks, Steve. I was onto it straight away, and a copy of the original registration document is in the post. I tried Sheffield as well, but they don't list anything, though I do already have a copy for PL3002 - obtained in 1967 directly from the tax office in Rockingham House - or was it on Surrey Street, just around the corner from the Graves Art Gallery? I'll see if Somerset has anything for 'YC' on my '29 Chummy.

Sheffield does have some records; several years ago I helped an MG owner to reclaim a Sheffield number, but the records only show the dealer to whom the car was supplied, not the first owner.
