What have you done today with your Austin Seven
Hi Peter,

Bill Sheehan in 2010 confirmed his advice:

Long Wheelbase High Frame max 6 1/2"

Low Frame max 3 1/2"

The crank handle should sit to the left from the front (opposite to yours) sitting on a support in the tunnel.

Cheers, Tony, Melbourne.

Thanks Tony.

Hi Peter,
I like the look of your tourer. The cut-down doors makes it look less chunky than an Opal or a Pearl. Is it made from a Pearl or a Ruby?

I would think the Austin 7 tourer body would be Australian made on an imported chassis as was the practice then.

Tony is spot on.

Cutaway door style rather typical of Holden bodies?

Maybe a bit late for Holden- often they had an aluminium id label under the rear seat.

I think most Australian bodied late tourers had the cutaway doors.

Yesterday, we turfed the Seven out of the garage so that we could work on Leon's Morris Minor. Whilst he was cleaning up the floorpan and assessing just how much welding is required, I used the Seven to go out and do a bit of essential running around.

Another view of the lake and it's bleakness.
