Bracing Front Axle
#1
I have read a few posts and articles which mention bracing the front axle to the radius arms to reduce the tendency for the axle to roll forwards under braking.

Some examples show the bracing rod going through a hole in the front axle, near the king pin. Others which I have seen appear to have had a steel tube welded to the axle and the rod put through this.

Is the hole present on some models already or is it drilled for the purpose? I cannot see such a hole on my ruby axle, unless I am just missing it.

Regards,

Jamie.

The later "Semi-Girling" front axle has the two holes - they used larger radius arms with a two point fixing to the axle.

And if anyone has one needing a new home, I've been looking.......
