I think they had a good old proper scrap yard in Crewkerne years ago, these items are perhaps all that's left.

The 4.4i BMW E 53 V8 for £1200 that appeared as a "pop up" would make a good motor for a Seven special....

From me to vendor:
"Graham, I'm confused. Why are you trying to sell this item for around £1600 more than it's worth? Do please set me straight if I have misunderstood something".

He replied!
"Hi Chris, sorry to confuse you. Let me explain how it works.
There is no fixed value on any of this old stuff apart from what it will make on the day if weighed in for scrap.
In this case that would be around fifteen pounds perhaps.
Other than that it is worth what someone will sell it for combined with what someone will buy it for.
A while ago I saw an old Daimler engine sell for three hundred pounds. About four months later the man who bought the engine sold it for three thousand pounds in exactly the same condition.
So, was the engine worth three hundred pounds or three thousand pounds?
The answer is both or anywhere in between as in both cases the buyer and seller were happy with the deal they had. I like to put a high price on things and allow anyone to make me an offer. If I get an offer that I am happy with I will sell. If I am sticking out for too high a price then the item won't sell and I end up keeping it.
That is about it really, I hope this has helped."

No longer confused!!
