Austin 7 V8...
#1
Spotted in this months,May, copy of Classic and Sportscar. The product of a talented guy who works out of a company in Bicester for a customer.
A single crank engine with its crankcase formed from two cases one an Austin 7 the other a Bantam.. plus it's planned to fit a supercharger.

I must admit the picture does looks a bit made up, but someone did make a V8 prewar using a pair of Austin Seven blocks, It can obviously be done

What I can't work out is where do the other 4 big ends go. Would you need a specially made crank with 4 more journals.

2 rods to each crankpin is how it’s done

There is not much room. I need a diagram...

You’d need special thin rods, but that would be ok. They fit two per crankpin, one pointing to each bank of cylinders. Like a Ford V8

Or a second little joint adjacent to the big end as on the Ehrlich.

An excellent way to get rid of two more early engines !

Cheers, Tony.
