Austin Seven Brochure on ebay - Colin Morgan - 16-02-2025 Do we have this in the Archive? Not seen one before. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355685166325 RE: Austin Seven Brochure on ebay - Mike Costigan - 16-02-2025 I've not seen that one before. It doesn't appear in the Archive's website, so hopefully our Archivist is on the ball... RE: Austin Seven Brochure on ebay - Ruairidh Dunford - 16-02-2025 See here: https://www.archive.a7ca.org/wp-content/uploads/BR_695.pdf RE: Austin Seven Brochure on ebay - Mike Costigan - 16-02-2025 Curious; I searched for publication 695 and couldn't find it. RE: Austin Seven Brochure on ebay - Tony Griffiths - 16-02-2025 Restored cover: https://www.lathes.co.uk/austin7-2/img89.jpg on this page: https://www.lathes.co.uk/austin7-2/page6.html RE: Austin Seven Brochure on ebay - Colin Morgan - 16-02-2025 Thanks, Ruairidh. (The number 695 suggests it is from 1929? It is in the list, but at the bottom. https://archive.a7ca.org/collections/show-brochures/ ) RE: Austin Seven Brochure on ebay - Hugh Barnes - 16-02-2025 It's at the bottom of the list as an accurate date cannot be attributed to it. Most Brochures have a publication date, but a handful do not. They appear as a group at the bottom of the list. It is not always the case that publication date aligns with publication number (oddly) RE: Austin Seven Brochure on ebay - Mike Costigan - 16-02-2025 I would have thought it perfectly reasonable to attribute a date of late-1929 to it; the illustrations clearly show the deep-section mudguards introduced in September 1929 whilst also showing the mid-sized radiator current up to mid-1930. Brochure illustrations were often out-dated, sometimes artistically modified to a new design (RNs used to illustrated RPs, for example) but I have never seen an Austin brochure anticipating a new design. |
