Happy New Year to all at A7F, and thanks for sharing the picture Tony.

RE: From Prewar Car - John Mason - 01-01-2024

I say those girls look a little racey. Happy new year.

John Mason.

RE: From Prewar Car - Chris KC - 01-01-2024

Ah, I've just twigged that her ears/ wings say "Pratts Spirit".

RE: From Prewar Car - Tony Griffiths - 01-01-2024

That's the highest-resolution copy I've seen of that image - thanks for posting it. Let's jazz it up a little.

RE: From Prewar Car - Mike Costigan - 01-01-2024

I can't find my copy of the Profile publication on the Austin Seven, but I'm pretty sure this illustration appeared in it with a caption that explained the Pratts Spirits connection.

RE: From Prewar Car - Steve Jones - 01-01-2024

It does, Mike. The caption reads:

'The Austin Seven was a 'natural' for publicity. The girls enter into the spirit of things in November 1923, the spirit in question being Pratt's High Test Motor Spirit, predecessor of Esso.'

Steve

Click on the colour image and the word "Pratts" is now a little clearer.

RE: From Prewar Car - Alan - 01-01-2024

She can sit on my bonnet anytime

RE: From Prewar Car - Steve Jones - 01-01-2024

Are you sure, Alan? We know the photo was taken in 1923 so if she was still about she'd be around 120 years old. Think of the health and saftety implications. Of course, she might have a Great, Great Grandaughter..........
