The VSCC has just issued an update on their changes of policy for eligibility of cars for competition.
“Eligibility is extended to original Post-War Specials made before 31st December 1955, with Buff Forms designated “Post-War Special”. Newly constructed accurate copies of Post-War Specials that existed prior to 31st December 1955 will also be considered for acceptance”
This seems to indicate any Williams car built before the end of 1955, and the early Speedex cars. Does it now mean that Ashley cars are eligible? As for ali bodied Ulster or Grasshoppers built and registered in the indicated timescale, presumably these can be considered eligible as well.

Ironic to see they are considering 'Special' Replicas now. How do you conceive an "accurate replica" of a post war special which were by their very conception, open to the vagaries of the purchaser of the body?

Well, given most of the 'vintage' exotica currently accepted are really nothing more than post war specials in anycase, isn't this just levelling things up?

What the puff is a 'Post War Special'? Do they mean bodywork produced in quantity to a specific design? If so how many need to have been made to qualify and who determines which 'makes' are eligible as originals and to copy as 'replicas'.
Why not just blow the doors off and say all specials with pre 1955 or whatever bits as accepted?

Where will it end -firstly Rubies were OK'd, now postwar specials, How long before they let in Mk 3 Cortinas
If I was being cynical, I might think that letting in postwar specials was more about boosting membership numbers than a sudden Damascene conversion by the VSCC as to the fun that you might have driving an A7 Cambridge or Ford Pop based special.
