Further event changes - Steve kay - 15-06-2021

For those who have not yet heard, Ian Grace has had to change the dates of the PWM weekend at Prescott. This is now intended to be Sat 11th and Sun 12th September. The Sunday will be the occasion for Sevens taking triumphant possession of a certain trophy, unless a feeling of charity and sympathy overcomes us and we let the Morris folk have it just for once. Assuming any of them can find their way to the finish.

The BOC and their local authority seem to be severely constrained in what can happen at Prescott. MAC have no problems with spectators at Shelsley, though access to the paddock is not allowed. Shenstone & District are saying that their limited number of volunteers does not allow them to carry out checks on arriving spectators at Curboruogh, and ensuring correctly distanced behaviour. The entry arrangements to Loton Park seems to be making separating spectators from marshals and competitors too complicated to allow spectators at the moment. There are some well known competitors on the forum, so it would be interesting to know how things are proceeding elsewhere.  Recent YouTube footage of Forrestburn indicated few people watching, but not easy to see whether it was different to usual.

RE: Further event changes - Ruairidh Dunford - 15-06-2021

We don’t do anything competitive in the ScA7C but made the decision to cancel all events until further notice.

We expected backlash, but have had nothing but support.

The decision means we can all just get on with what we need to, without the threat of postponement/cancellation looming over us and all the stress that brings, particularly to those of us who voluntarily organise things.

Everyone is out and about in the cars just as much, just not all together at the same time, which is really great.
