Now those fake registration numbers I DO like Tony!

Great pictures and I love the reference to the rocket to the moon.

RE: lookers of Manchester austin showroom - Tony Betts - 11-06-2021

Must admit ivor I loved the moon reference to.

I now these pics are not of austin 7s. Although it's nice to stimulate the brain with something different.

But lookers, took on austin 7 sales very strongly from 1918 onwards. And well known for the Fraser looers for austin.

Maybe someone has early pics.

If you zoom in on the pictures to the clock.

Hi Tony

Great. Thanks for posting.  I wonder if I’m the only one that would take the A95 shooting brake rather than the Healey?

Cheers

Howard

This clock is the actual clock on the wall.

Removed when lookers closed the showroom, I think in 1978ish.

Sorry it's not pre-war, that stuff is extremely hard to get. Not to mention costing an arm and a leg.

Tony.

Lovely stuff

RE: lookers of Manchester austin showroom - Andy Bennett - 12-06-2021

wonderful to have it saved with provenance.
presumably the pictures were Xmas 1968 (or perhaps 67 being ahead of the game).

Andy

RE: lookers of Manchester austin showroom - Mike Costigan - 12-06-2021

Don't you mean 1958, not 1968, Andy?

RE: lookers of Manchester austin showroom - Dave Prior - 12-06-2021

I would say a few years earlier. The A30 was replaced by the A35 in 1956.

RE: lookers of Manchester austin showroom - Mike Costigan - 12-06-2021

There are at least two different years featured; I agree the one(s) with the A30 and Healey 100 are from the early 1950s, but the 'moon' shot with the A95 and Healey 100/6 is going to 1957 or 1958.
