Magneto Engine dip stick dimensions - Charles P - 20-12-2017

I need to make one so need the two key dimensions- overall length and the position of the engraving for "full". I can't find a sketch. I want to make an "improved" one that fits the hole slightly better!

Thanks

Charles

Full mark is 1 1/2”

Total length to underside of ball is 7”

To minimise oil loss at the dip stick hole I use a small, heavy piece of shoe leather tightly slipped over the stick, that rests against the crankcase. Does it work you ask, well a bit.
Is there any truth to the rumour that the same dip stick full mark can be used down the filler plug hole in a 3 sreed gearbox to check oil level?    cheers  Russell

That is what I have always done Russell.

I have one you can borrow to copy Charles...if you are around over the festive season

Don't worry John. I don't need an original to copy because I'm going to try and make it better than the original!
Btw I still have that head of yours - must pop over with it.
