Petrol tank fittings. - Robert Foreman - 31-01-2021 Does anyone have a scrap chummy petrol tank that I could use the right angled outlet off please? RE: Petrol tank fittings. - Howard Wright - 04-02-2021 Hi Robert Sorry I can’t really help but I do have three tanks that have come from either a Chummy or an RK. All three have a disc of metal about 3/16” thick and 1 1/4” diameter with three rivets plus soldered to the outlet area and threaded 1/8 BSP (I think?) for a brass elbow. They may all be replacements and incorrect as the parts book I have (1930) doesn’t show the outlet. Let me know if you want a picture? Cheers Howard RE: Petrol tank fittings. - Robert Foreman - 04-02-2021 Hello Howard, PM me some photos please. Thanks, Robert. RE: Petrol tank fittings. - Howard Wright - 04-02-2021 Hi Robert This is the one I think is the most original. It’s off my RK and I don’t think the tank had been messed about with. (Tried to private message but couldn’t add the photo) Cheers Howard Hi Robert This is the outlet on another tank that I have soldered on a disc. Gives you some idea of what is under the disc. Cheers Howard RE: Petrol tank fittings. - Robert Foreman - 04-02-2021 Hello Howard, that's the very fitting I'm looking for. I could use a modern elbow but they aren't really long enough. |
