I hope that Chummy has Nobby Springs on the back!

RE: Celebrating the new Lockdown - John Mason - 05-01-2021

I am almost afraid to ask this question with Tony’s photo
Shop skills. We can know longer believe in the saying. The camera can not lie. But when do you think the photograph was taken.

John Mason

RE: Celebrating the new Lockdown - Mike Costigan - 05-01-2021

The car looks to be in pretty good condition, so my guess is the photo dates from no later than 1924/25. They need to put some more air in those tyres before they go very far!

Looking at the curtains, the house door, the road surface and the car's "clean" and very original appearance - I'd agree with Mike: the picture was definitely taken in the 1920s (the original was black and white of course). However, SWMBO disagrees - she thinks that the hair and clothes point to the early 1960s.

If post war would the railings still be there?

RE: Celebrating the new Lockdown - "Slack Alice" Simon - 05-01-2021

It does rather look like student "rag" week of the 60's.

Plenty of railings survived the war, I think.

RE: Celebrating the new Lockdown - Renaud - 05-01-2021

I reckon that this looks 60's to me too.
