I occasionally attempt to reduce the collected clutter of a lfetime of varied interests. In sorting through stumbled upon a Practical Classics of Dec 1981. Had a buying feature on Sevens.
"The ride is quite comfortable but fast cornering is an acquired art and should not be attempted by a novice.
Describing the limitations of the Austin Seven and what the driver has to contend with always make the car sound difficult and demanding but in practice it is an easy and entertaining little car to drive."
Seems most cars then on offer were in the L1,000 to L3,000 range.

Blimey, that's an understatement if my RN is anything to go by!
