What looks to have been quite a professional conversion of a Ford sidevalve to a 4 speed Austin transmission, nice job of dropping the front axle too. Wonder where these originated and what clothed them ?

Tony had an axle that shape a little while ago.  Was it a super accessories conversion? I have a feeling it was.

Shame there's so little left. It may have had EST racing pedigree!

Long taper half shafts in that rear axle will make it desirable for the special builders too.

I have seen several cranked, rather than curved, front axles many years ago. Simplicity's current holey axle is like that, too.

... had the seller left well alone doubtless he would have harvested his asking price without the expended effort.. unfortunate on all fronts, more so for the Ruby though.

He probably just bought a discarded body from a chap in Leeds best known for destroying Rubies...
