Ruby Window Winder - Jamie - 21-02-2020

Would anyone with a Ruby mind measuring to see whether a winder handle 5" long clear the dashboard?

Regards,

Jamie.

On my car the distance measures exactly 5" from the centreline of the square handle drive to the dash.  (For reference, the standard handle is 3" from the centre of the drive to the centre of the handle button, which adds another 1/4" or so to the overall length.)

Thank you, Colin. That is just what I needed to know.

Regards,

Jamie.

It is a very  dark and stormy night through which I have just returned from the workshop. On my Ruby the distance from the centre line to the dash panel is barely 4 3/4" so nowhere near enough room to spin a wndow winding handle.

Thank you both for checking. I am looking for window handles and wanted to check the size which would fit.

I bought a pair from e-bay which would fit, but as they were nothing like the pair shown in the advert, look wrong and one was broken, they are going back. I have seen another, non-Austin, pair which look really nice and suitable, but I fear are too long.

Regards,

Jamie.
