My Kiwi Reproduction ulster - Athanasius Santamaria - 29-12-2019

Its been a while since I last posted an update on my project.... Thought it was about time to show whats been happening of late and start a new thread on the new forum.

Bellow are a few pictures of what I have been up to. Still an enormous amount to do, but things are slowly getting there.
Currently I am trying to finish the floor and then will turn my attention to the buck for the skin. However a lot is still to be done.

Many thanks to all of those who have helped out so far (You know who you all are). I wouldn't have got this far without you all.

Hi Anathasius

Looks like another Antipodian masterpiece in the making.

Super metalwork.

Well done

Cheers

Thanks Joss, luckily I know a few clever buggers who know a thing or two..

Here is a few more pictures of the scuttle box being formed and folded. After the swaging was done, the curved edges were lifted and the dimples pressed in. The Die was made out of a piece of chopping board machined to the desired shape. Being all one piece the task of swaging folding and pressing proved challenging.

Next step is to do some adjusting and then move on to the rear tunnel piece over the diff.

See what happens when you hang around with the wrong crowd Atho, its is looking superb, a dam fine job you are doing.

RE: My Kiwi Reproduction ulster - Chris KC - 09-01-2020

It's quite humbling to see this kind of work produced from scratch largely by sheer determination!

RE: My Kiwi Reproduction ulster - Ian Williams - 09-01-2020

Even more so Chris when I tell you we don't have any genuine unmolested Ulsters in the country that can be copied, everything Atho is doing has come from his painstaking research of period photographs and the kindness of one or two english owners in confirming dimensions and taking photographs of original cars. Atho will be far too modest to say but he is still in his early 20's and this is the first vintage car he has built, his workmanship and attention to detail is exemplary and I agree humbling.
