Axle filler plug - Tom Coates - 07-09-2019

Can anyone tell me the size of the axle filler plug (screw in torque tube)? I assume its a BSP fitting, drain plugs seem to be available but none of the usual suppliers show filler plugs in their catalogue.

I think it was originally a grease nipple Tom, if not, one could be used.

If it's the same as the earlier axle, it's 1/8 BSP parallel. As Ruairidh says, a grease nipple was originally fitted but I use a 1/8 BSP plug, available from hydraulic suppliers when I fill the axle with oil.

Oil gallery plugs from an old crankcase make great filler plugs, they are the same thread!
