Running boards - Charles Levien - 24-08-2019 Some advice please— my running boards ( 1937 two seat tourer) need new rubber covering. I’ve got the nearside off the car. The old rubber is stuck on like the proverbial to a blanket. The tin is not too bad but will need a bit of sorting, especially at the narrow end. So, questions — is there an easy way to get the old rubber off ( the top principally) or should I just get a new bit of tin and if the latter are they available? Thanks, Charles RE: Running boards - Ivor Hawkins - 24-08-2019 I had similar problems and used a heat gun, it was a bit smelly, but it worked! RE: Running boards - Charles Levien - 25-08-2019 Thanks for that — I found an old camping gas paint stripper on a dusty shelf and this did the trick. An outside job! |
