I know it has been on the forum before but what is the recommended filling capacity of a 1927 rear axle?

I put 1/2 pint in. The official capacity is 7/8 pint I believe but it tends to find its way along the axle tubes into the hub and onto the brakes.

Personally I fill till it starts to dribble back out of the filler hole, wait till it stops dripping and put the plug back in.

on old axle with possibly not good seals, I've been putting about 275ml, so yes, about half pint for safety. But will need checking more often if axle leaks!
