Ruby Front Spring U-Bolts - Martin Baker - 03-06-2019
Does anyone have any tips or tricks of how to tighten the front spring u-bolts on a Mk11 Pearl? I have managed to tighten the two forward nuts but can't see how to get to the rear nuts without removing the front grille and raising the front of the engine
. Unfortunately the nuts were not fitted with tab washers and have come loose.

I specially bent/buggered a long thin ring spanner in a convoluted shape to reach the rear nuts on my RP.
I could only get about an eighth of a turn per go, but it worked.

It was a few years ago, but I seem to remember removing the radiator to gain access (after lifting off the bonnet and unbolting the front end of the bonnet support strut but otherwise leaving the bodywork intact).
