Donington Park 13th May 1933.  B Sparrow in GE Supersports. Rear wheel collapsed, car rolled, throwing out riding mechanic who suffered broken thigh. Sparrow remained in car which righted itself, suffering a cut to the head.

A great old photo - I recall when first seeing it - I doubt neither the driver nor the mechanic were alone in their respective overalls.   Cheers,  Bill in Oz

It is dificult to judge if the crew have deliberately lifted themselves or just been left behind as the car lurched. The small degree of steering correction suggests very rapid developments as the latter. 
The owners of the Rubber Duck out here used to express surprise at the contortions of the wheels under load.
I am surprised that Bill approves of the publication of such a negative photo.
