I would agree. Its so horrid it must de value the car.

The Swallow made £38,750, so not the sum expected, but still very strong for a seven. The '27 R saloon made £10,500, about right I would have thought.

Donning my anorak... Wouldn't a 1931 car have an aluminium, not Bakelite Gas/Ignition disk on the steering wheel?

No. These Bakelite covers were unique to Swallow and feature their logo. They were standard fitment on the 1931 and 1932 model Austin Swallows. In fact they anticipated the Austin version.
