Recommended grease. - Jays - 30-01-2019

Hi,  my first post!  I’ve bought an Ulster rep (sorry it’s not an original but you have to start somewhere!) and I have a query about the recommended greases to use. There’s a lot more nipples than my previous Morgans but at least the nipples are more accessible!

I have tried a search on the forum but not had success in unearthing anything.

Another question.....some Ulster’s have a footplate that seems to be fitted just in front of the rear wheels. Can anyone tell me what this is bolted to?

I’m sure as I get use to the car I’ll have loads more questions!

Hi Jays,
Castrol LM serves for most purposes. No doubt others will have different favourites. Some advocate using heavy oil instead of grease for certain joints e.g. king pins because it is easier to get in.

Long or short chassis? Pics?

Footplate may be mounted on the rear chassis crossmember  if they've not been cut off.

Thanks both. I’ll try LM. The car is long chassis. I’ll post photos when I know how to do it!
