Engine locked - Tiger - 03-11-2018

Having completed work on the camshaft and bearings.
Just about to grind in the valves.
Engine is now locked solid.
Engine has been in every position possible while working on it.
Is it possible for the oil pump to seize ???
Help much needed

I once had this symptom which was cured fortunately after finding the sump bolt centre rear was touching the flywheel. Hope this is your trouble, cheers  Russell

Block holding down stud wound down onto the petrol pump drive cam?

Rearmost middle sump bolt locking flywheel?

Is your cam bearing retaining bolt the original or have you or someone else done the modification. If it has is the retaining bolt to long and tightening on to the cam locking it up.

My pal Neil had this problem a fortnight ago.

Too long sump bolt! Bearing cover bolts can bind
on the flywheel as well.

Hope it works out for you.

Many thanks for the replies .
Tried all the suggestions.
Sump is off again.
Cam bearing securing pins loose.
Seems to catch at flywheel end.
Going to remove the cam drive gear next, but it was a bugger to get off the first time.
Probably me done something really daft.

Is it a top mounted starter motor? If So check that it’s not one of the bolts that holds it down not catching the ring gear if it’s too long

Is one of the cam followers split? These jam when the tappet is done up...
