Ratchford were really helpful about sending samples, and sent the actual material promptly- it can all be purchased on line.
It's good for the interior panels, as it dresses around edges really well and can be pushed around with a cloth  and set nicely on adhesive because it's so thin.
However I did have doubts about it being strong enough for upholstery as the cars were originally of course- but my wife who is a very clever seamstress says it could be toughened up substantially with the iron-on interlinings used by dressmakers and do the job.
It said it would be interesting to try, but when I suggested that she could have a go she declined rather firmly...
I put it down to the stress of social isolation.
They also do a really interesting material called Buckram, which is a very fine glazed woven fabric.

This - quite thin - was bought for the restoration of the GE Saloon that sold on recently after being part of an estate. https://ratchford.co.uk/product/leathercloth-tan/
It's still remarkably cheap on sale... and has a good grain.

Oh the excitement of getting ready for a rally! Is everything prepared, marked up OS map, pencils, Romer....laptop set up for google maps. Maybe it might be a better idea to sit down tomorrow morning for the Virtual Scatter rally at the kitchen table , rather than in the Ruby, but  will it be as much fun?

The Ruby. I drove it a few cars lengths under it's own power.

Excellent!

Hi Steve,

The furlough situation has allowed me to make some progress on my 'Cambridge' special. I did consider doing the rally sitting in the car. It would have been the first rally for the car since 1981. My wife had other ideas, so we will be doing the rally in the comfort of the dining room.

Have fun,
Colin

The Ruby looks wonderful Andrew but what are the white lights either end of the front number plate?

Flashing direction indicators with orange bulbs.

Ah, that makes sense, thanks Andrew!
