Fitted the GE threshold plates kindly donated by Ruairidh, using tiny countersunk flat headed alloy rivets
Tapped and glued into the sill. Also refitted the unique , nickel plated bronze GE door slams and nifty little door catches. One not quit fitting clear enough for the bolt to “shoot”. Try again tomorrow.
the Slosh Sealant has arrived too but not started on that yet. Loads of other stuff still to do, steering rebuild and refit, replace floor ++++

Plus a souvenir from the 1924 Empire Exhibition Palace of Industry where the GE Cup models were assembled in 1925/6/7 when it became a Gordon England car factory?

Big day at the AllAlloyCup garage. After a 6 month supply chain issue the new 10 x 400w panel solar system is being installed on top of the south facing sloping garage roof along with a 10 kWh battery. Once the TR3A goes will an EV sit alongside the Cup I wonder? Has anyone built an A7 EV yet ?

As far as I know, at least 2 A7 EVs have been built: one in a Box saloon and the other in a Ruby. The Ruby (painted a fairly bright yellow) was at the Beaulieu rally last July and had been made by the people at the Austin Motor Co. who were at the Centenary rally. They had made a very neat job of the Ruby - all there was under the bonnet was a fairly large square aluminium box and some electronics in a heatsink box on the bulkhead. They said that the car could be restored to original in a short time and that the torque was controlled so that the halfshafts would survive. The gearbox had gone, so there were just accelerator & brake pedals. A small 3-way switch was mounted between the front seats (F-N-R). I have to admit that it was an absolute hoot to drive - the acceleration from zero was immense and everyone who tried it out came back with a big grin on their faces. The range was quoted at c.70 miles, so it would make a great 'shopping trolley' type of car for local use.

The solar system built in 2 days! 10 x 400 w panels with a 10kwh battery . Can function as emergency PS should the grid go down. We had a 3 day power cut last year.
