Hi

My YUWSA 6V battery is dead it is over 1 years old. I need to replace it, any suggestions and where to get it from?
Many thanks

Tried to attach screenshot of website unsuccessfully twice but Europarts still have about a day left on
Their “ sale70” promotion and do a 6 volt Excide with 3 yr guarantee for £91.19

I have an Exide 6volt 80Ah that's given excellent service for a number of years. Not the cheapest option, but worth the extra.
Use a battery conditioning charger when not in use. (Accumate or similar).

I've found these the cheapest for my last purchase: https://www.tayna.co.uk/leisure-batteries/exide/eu80-6/?gclid=CjwKCAjwxILdBRBqEiwAHL2R87G8BTtQGL25AOz7aA9bTzRR5J_r5yfzD2LcctLKSwETvtT2ixQLsBoCmkMQAvD_BwE

Plenty of choice here,

I bought a Shield 6V 88Ah from Battery Charged and found their service exemplary, car hasn't been running long enough to say much more but so far so good. Currently £96.97 (or lower Ah versions for less).

Agree with Reckless, a conditioning charger will make your battery last much longer.

RE: 6V battery - Dennis Nicholas - 18-09-2018

As Reckless says...for future use a charger/maintainer. I have 3 in constant use since Dec 2006. Accumate. One changeable 6V - 12V on the ride-on mower tractor, one OptiMate III 12V on my "Little Grey Fergi" which gets very little us at moment, one Accumate on spare battery in garage and since selling the second Scim a fourth Accumate as spare. So 12 years virtually constant switched on in use is not bad?

I agree with Reckless I have the exide 80 amp/hour battery. I have had it for a number of years without problems. This also includes a full 12 months period when the car was laid up. I just charged the battery up and had no problems since. Despite people (some on the old forum) telling me to throw it away and get a new one. I would get another Exide when a replacement is necessary.

I agree with others that the Exide is a good bet.
I have just changed my box saloon battery, it has lasted eight years, very happy with that.

I'm with Nick, Bruce et al. The Exide 80aH is the one to go for. Whilst two of my Sevens are 12v, my RM Saloon is 6v and the Exide battery is better than good. If you work your way through the various links above, it can be the cheapest option as well.
