rear facing starter mkII - which way up? - JonE - 02-05-2018

1929/30 model, not bacon slicer. Can't find a photo with detail. It occurs to me that this can sit in two different ways in its housing.

Where is the connector for the battery connector lead meant to sit - "above" or "below" please?!

I have seen both but suspect below was used more commonly.

I have two cars fitted with these starter motors. One has the connection on the top, the other on the bottom. Both work as they should but the car with the connection to the bottom is significantly more original than the other.
