Ultra- sonic cleaning a carb - Peter Naulls - 30-05-2025 I have a carburetor bowl and emulsion block that I want to clean in a friend's ultra-sonic cleaner. Can anyone recommend what cleaning fluid I should use? He's given me some aluminium cleaner but I'm nervous and don't want it to dissolve! RE: Ultra- sonic cleaning a carb - Howard Wright - 30-05-2025 Hi Peter I recently used this to clean a carb in my ultrasonic cleaner. Carbusonic Ultrasonic carburettor cleaning solution 1lt removes dirt and grease from engine parts, tools and motorbike parts 1 litre https://amzn.eu/d/9BWUmUt Seemed to work well. Nothing disolved. Cheers Howard RE: Ultra- sonic cleaning a carb - Peter Naulls - 30-05-2025 Thank you Howard. RE: Ultra- sonic cleaning a carb - Jamie - 31-05-2025 I have used both a generic proprietary cleaning fluid and washing up liquid to clean a carburettor in an ultrasonic cleaner and both worked well. The unit is a cheap Aldi or Lidl one. Jamie RE: Ultra- sonic cleaning a carb - Peter Naulls - 31-05-2025 Thank you Jamie. I did initially try washing up liquid, 20 minutes at 60 degrees, but it didn't seem to do anything. RE: Ultra- sonic cleaning a carb - Peter Johnson - 31-05-2025 +1 for carbusonic from Amazon. Peter |
