ARR Ruby for sale - Mike Costigan - 29-05-2025 This looks to be a nice specimen, although information on mechanical condition is rather lacking: https://www.rsvintage.co.uk/for-sale-1/1937-austin-7-ruby/atc RE: ARR Ruby for sale - Hugh Barnes - 29-05-2025 Go on, MIke, you know you want to.... RE: ARR Ruby for sale - Mike Costigan - 29-05-2025 I might have been tempted a couple of years ago, Hugh, but with the current prices of pre-War cars there are others on the market that are more tempting! RE: ARR Ruby for sale - Ivor Hawkins - 30-05-2025 I agree Mike, it looks like a nice car, but prices have continued stagnate and fall, there are some more realistically prices Rubies out there! RE: ARR Ruby for sale - Mike Costigan - 30-05-2025 I'm looking beyond Sevens; there's what looks to be a very nice Vintage Riley Monaco for just £500 more than the Ruby, and even an Alvis 12/50 for £1,000 more. Sevens are holding their value better than most. RE: ARR Ruby for sale - Steve kay - 30-05-2025 A 12/50 Alvis for seven grand? That’s less than the agreed value on my 2CV. Quick, I must open the pocket money tin and buy a machine with as much carrying capacity as the Citroen, and suitable for towing trailers. RE: ARR Ruby for sale - Mike Costigan - 30-05-2025 Looks like the Alvis is now sold (it was advertised at £7,250), and a Silver Eagle sold last month at an advertised price of £9,500. Both were saloons, in what I would describe as reasonable condition; I think unless the car is really smart, buyers are hard to find. |
