RE: 26VA carb adjustment - Peter Naulls - 19-04-2025 All possibilities which I had considered, thank you. The reconditioned carb as first fitted was one I'd used successfully on my special 30 years ago so I think a mismatch of parts is unlikely. Interestingly it does appear to have a bowl which is very subtly different to those discussed in previous threads. The fuel level issue is possible (I may not have fitted the same thickness washer after the refurb) as is an obstruction in the emulsion block. Incidentally I did have a blocked pathway in the emulsion block on the old carb due to the gasket swelling; it behaved very unpredictably. I shall remove the jets and emulsion block and put them in an ultrasonic cleaner. I can do it at my leisure knowing the car is now running well. Every day a school day. |
