c.855 is only 19mm choke, so much more tractable than 21 or Speedy's heinous 25mm - and thus good mpg. Put it back on?!
The old Companion guru seems to suggest that 19mm is theoretically the best match for the engine size.

I get excellent performance on my pressurised Nippy engine with a 30 VM 5 855, I tried version's with 21mm and 24mm the 19mm appears to work the best. You need a good selection of jets to get optimum set up which takes a little time, I don't recall the sizes I used off hand and I am away in the middle of moving city's so cant look the details up present....Jon I believe I did give them to you at one time?
