RE: Piston Ring Gap - Robert Leigh - 26-07-2020 I would go along with what Chris says, and have never used slipper pistons, although I am thinking I may try them on my next warm engine build. The rule of thumb I was given 60 years ago for ring gap is 3 thou per inch of bore, and this agrees with what has been said in this thread, and is valid for other engines bigger than Austin Sevens. RE: Piston Ring Gap - Tony Betts - 26-07-2020 thanks R, as im not looking to increase the value of stock on the shelf, some will notice alot of are smaller items disapareing to fund the larger items. trying to diverse into what others are not supplying. or not getting right. thanks tony |
