RE: Antifreeze - Chris KC - 28-10-2019

With respect Reckless the specific heat capacity of a 50:50 antifreeze mix is roughly 20% lower than plain water. That is to say a given amount of heat energy will raise its temperature more than it would plain water. Cooling systems designed to run on antifreeze have a larger fluid volume to compensate for this. I'll grant you in most circumstances your average A7 owner is not going to notice a lot of difference - a well maintained Seven tends to run cool anyway. But for anyone experiencing overheating troubles it's a quick and easy way to shave off a degree or two.
