Repair of the two bridges in the water outlet area of the block |

Does anyone have any experience in repairing the bridges in the water outlet from the block. They tend to be tapped oversize then corrosion just about eliminates them as a competent bridge.
I'd be interested in the thought of repairing them using nickel bronze rod then machining off and retapping the original size which I am assuming is 5/16" BSF

Lucas DFL Dynamo |

I have a Lucas DFL dynamo on my mag engined Chummy. The dynamo was rebuilt a few years ago and has not done a lot of hours since.
It regularly fails to charge but usually responds to having the commutator cleaned with switch cleaner - but only for a while. Before I do this the commutator has a black oily appearance. Is this likely to be due to oil getting in at the drive end, over lubrication dating from the rebuild, or carbon coming from the brushes, -or something else?
I am running it in 2 brush form with a solid state regulator, not that that would make any difference I guess.

I'm looking for a starting handle assembly for a Mag engine.
Car is 1928 and has an ali housing/bearing, which I gather was a short lived thing. I only have this housing and it is damaged (FUBAR)
Happy with earler or later examples in Iron. Have lathe and milling machine so we can make it fit. But dont want to start from scratch.
PM please or ring me on 07871 577 132.

Anyone on here involved with the A7CA Chassis Register?
I've been on the website and some of the links, including the notification form are not working. Tried Edge and IE plus my phone.
Ihave also tried the Contact page Webmaster link, and while that loaded up, I got an error message when I pressed send.
