Speedo recalibration
#1
Can anyone recommend where to get a late Ruby speedo recalibrated - the reading is getting higher and higher - which is encouraging but not very helpful!

I have no personal experience of the company but they have been around for some time now: [Only registered and activated users can see the links Click here to register]
Don't worry about it, use it, let your friends and family use it!

I believe Speedy Cables offer the service too.

Peter.

I would recommend you talk to "speedy cables". They do a lot with instruments. You will find them on the web.

It would be good to hear how you get on Peter - I've been using an 'adjustment factor' for years...

Peter, I hope you are not thinking about clocking your car with a view to putting it up for sale. What would you say was average mileage on an 80+ Year car.

Thank you all, I will report back.

If I were doing that John I would leave it as it is - the fastest Ruby in Britain!

My speedo is on its way to Speedograph Richfield.

Chris Clark couldn't do it. Speedy cables were talking about possibly having to make up a reduction gearbox and were evasive about the cost. The man at S.R. by comparison seemed to know exactly what was involved and expects the cost to be around £55.

Peter An overhaul and restoration of a decent looking speedometer for an RN by Speedy eighteen months ago took several weeks and cost £286. It was an excellent rebuild and finish but not cheap It is accurate in speed and mileage. An additional cost new drive cable had very well engineered ends but the cable cover looked more like a hand held shower job than the original"engineered" casing.
