I can't help wondering whether Chris is dribbling 20W50 through all those pristine Japanese side streets - would be less well received in Japan than in Russia I reckon!

Probably not - silicon gaskets and an engine rebuild from an Austin guru helped.

If you go back to the start of the trip he was complaining about an oil leak that was traced to the petrol pump.

It wasn't that bad a leak (I would have lived with it) but he didn't like it, and somehow fixed it.

Haven't heard anything since about oil.

There will be the odd drip I don't doubt.

Do we know what the onward plan is? i.e. does he only need to get through a couple of days' drive then ship the car home? Or is he turning around and motoring back?
