The so called Raid Cars were all built in Melbourne Australia in 1980. There were five cars that travelled to UK (four blown) - and another of similar design stayed here.

All were shared a broad design but were different in detail. They were constructed by a group of different Austin Seven specialists including David Lowe and Bill Morling.

As I mentioned- some years later David built a similar design blown car.

I believe all but the last car are still in Australia but I will check further when I next see David.

The interesting story about these Raid cars is included in the booklet 'Austin Seven Competition Cars 1922-1982' by Martin Ayre published by the 750 Motor Club in 1982- check second hand bookshops.

Raid cars bodies were built by Richard Stanley, timing case patterns and machining all done by Bob Booth, Marshall cabin blowers used however J75s, J100s , and others have been used on these timing covers, the one in question is a cabin blower and is driven at engine speed and develops 8psi if blower is in good condition.

Hi Conny,
Just to put things straight, the car was built in Norway. I modelled it after the Australian Raid cars. Some of the parts come from Australia. It has never been started.
Best wishes,
