Check your wheel nut studs
#1
I'm putting this pic onĀ as a reminder to periodically check the condition of the wheel nut studs. The waisting and wear is really quite frightening when compared to the new ones!

That ones hardly worn past the thread root !!
Fitting new is the right thing to do though 90 years of fatigue is more of a hidden danger.

And sure to be dished on the back as well. The original wheel brace is deliberately small. Garages and their "skilled" staff are a menace. They cannot adapt to less tahn 7/16. Other cars with 3/8 studs also suffer.
