Some people are watching Rugby, I'm falling about laughing at this. Ah, the correct period detail, polishing the outer  tyre walls with Zebrite! The detailed description, some wholly invented!   We're probably not meant to ask, but is it all part of a money laundering operation, because it can't for a moment be a serious car sales attempt.

I expect they think they need to make £10,000 profit on all the cars they sell !!! Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

The same dealer that was selling the £18,000 dark blue special a couple of weeks ago. Actually, they have had this chummy advertised for quite a little while - I was sorely tempted to contact them to tell them to fasten the hood down properly before taking the photos, but then realised the spring clips are missing. Still, they could have invested in a couple of leather straps, couldn't they?

I suggest that is because the pictured hood is borrowed. The actual "pram hood" of which the advertisement speaks has been sent to a nearby hood cleaning specialist for a spray of Gore-Tex fluid to enhance the period water proof qualities. Also the leather straps have been ordered from the local saddler, but are presently marinating in neats foot oil before having the buckles attached.

bob you highlight the real problem here. This "Memorabilia" will one day find its way onto being associated with a heritage repro shell.

I have seen quite a few A7s that seem to have been hanging around on various dealer's websites for a long time and at inflated prices. There's a long wheelbase ersatz "Ulster"for 23k complete with racing number that's been there forever.
